A Client Need:
A Financial Services group is required to prepare their annual goals and objectives immediately after a large organizational restructure.
Staff members are now supporting different areas. The team also wants to get to know each other better so they can work together more cohesively. In addition the senior leader wants to examine the way in which they provide their service – how can they move toward being more proactive vs. reactive and exploring who their customers are and how they can communicate better with them.
They’ve got one day. What can TPS offer?
Participants kick off the session through a mind-map exercise identifying key issues/trends impacting Financial Services pre and post re-organization. In separate teams, they work through the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for each major trend.
With their work groups, participants then prioritize goals/objectives for the next twelve months and create a detailed action plan for 1-6 months.
After the teams have established their six month plans, they engage in a dialogue re: their service – how they can move toward being more strategic and proactive when there are constant changes requiring them to be reactive.
After lunch, participants engage in a fun filled team-building afternoon using Myers Briggs to identify their own and their team members’ personality types. The result is that participants and team leaders have a much better sense of who is on their team, why they act the way they do at meetings (e.g. more introspective and quiet or very talkative) how their team members make decisions, how they and their team members communicate with others, etc.
Everyone leaves the session laughing, more connected and with practical strategies for working together in the future. They have a detailed and realistic action plan for the next six months.
